How to Specify Surgical Cotton for an Order
Turn a product search into a clear purchase requirement: exact product, format, pack weight, quantity and delivery destination.
Start with the product label
A search for surgical cotton, absorbent cotton or medical cotton may leave the exact product unspecified. Start with the name on the pack and the requirement you need to meet. The Belsara catalogue lists Absorbent Cotton Wool I.P. in roll and Zig Zag formats, manufactured by Truveta Healthcare at GIDA, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.
All seven listed cotton variants are supplied non-sterile and marked “to be sterilized before use”. Do not treat a pack weight, an I.P. product name or a business certificate as a statement that the pack is sterile. For institutional purchasing, compare the label and documentation with your purchase specification.
Name the format as well as the weight
- Roll
- Cotton wool wound into a roll. Belsara lists 20 g, 40 g, 400 g and 500 g roll packs. See roll specifications.
- Zig Zag
- Cotton wool folded between layers of paper. Belsara lists 100 g, 400 g and 500 g Zig Zag packs. See Zig Zag specifications.
- A weight shared by both formats
- “500 g cotton” or “400 g cotton” does not identify a single Belsara variant. Add roll or Zig Zag to the requirement.
There are seven variants across five net weights. This does not mean every weight is supplied in both formats. Use the complete range comparison to select a listed product.
Separate pack weight from order quantity
- Net pack weight
- The cotton weight in one pack. For example, 500 g is half a kilogram; g, gm and grams in an enquiry refer to the same weight unit.
- Individual pack count
- The number of packs you want. Ten 500 g packs contain 5 kg of cotton in total; they remain ten separately packed products, not one 5 kg pack. This arithmetic example is not a minimum order.
- Retail multi-pack
- The listed small-roll bundles contain eight 20 g packs or four 40 g packs. State whether your quantity counts individual packs or those multi-packs.
- Shipping carton
- The outer packing used for dispatch. Ask for the number of individual packs per carton for your chosen variant; a retail multi-pack is not a shipping carton.
If your requirement is expressed in kilograms, state the intended pack weight and format as well. Ask for the pack count and carton breakdown to be written into the quotation. Do not assume that a request for a kilogram rate means a 1 kg retail pack is listed.
Compare like-for-like quotations
The price page publishes printed maximum retail prices, inclusive of all taxes. A printed MRP is different from a trade quotation for an actual quantity and destination. The per-100 g comparison on that page normalizes the printed MRP; it is not a separate product or a quoted wholesale rate.
- Check that both quotations identify the same product, format and net pack weight.
- Check whether the quantity and quoted rate refer to an individual pack, retail multi-pack, carton or weight unit.
- Confirm the number of packs supplied and how they will be packed for dispatch.
- Check the product amount, invoice details and freight terms so you know what the quotation includes.
- Confirm availability, minimum order, dispatch timing and any required delivery date before accepting the order.
A purchase requirement you can adapt
Example: “Please quote for Absorbent Cotton Wool I.P., roll format, 500 g per pack, 20 individual packs, for delivery to PIN 273212. Please confirm availability, minimum order, carton packing, product price, freight and dispatch terms. Our required delivery date and document list will be included with the enquiry.”
Replace the example format, weight, quantity and PIN code with your own requirement. Twenty packs and PIN 273212 are illustrative; they are not a minimum order or a restriction on delivery coverage. For a mixed order, put each format and weight on a separate line with its own pack count.
Hospital and government purchase teams can also include their specification, purchase or tender reference, receiving address and required supporting documents. The institutional supply page provides the procurement checklist, while certifications identifies the published documents and their specific scopes.
Choose the right buying route
- Pharmacy, surgical shop or wholesale stock
- Use wholesale purchasing for resale requirements and mixed pack enquiries anywhere in India.
- Hospital, nursing home, clinic or institution
- Use institutional supply for specification and document-led purchasing.
- Individual or small retail requirement
- Ask through Contact for the actual pack, quantity and delivery PIN code. The verified Uttar Pradesh distributor is listed there; confirm availability and purchase arrangements.
- Distributing the brand
- Use distributor enquiries to discuss a sales territory and your existing distribution activity.
Order from Gorakhpur for delivery across India
Belsara dispatches retail and bulk cotton orders from GIDA, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, to destinations across India. A buyer in Uttar Pradesh or another state or union territory uses the same destination-based enquiry process. Delivery information explains what is confirmed for the order.
The manufacturing address identifies the origin. It does not mean a Belsara branch or stocked local seller exists at every delivery destination. If you need a local purchase route, ask for verified seller details when sending your requirement.
